In New Mexico (Published in Vespertine Press Volume I)
The train is always
late.
The sky is blue. The
virgin is holy.
The girls are pregnant. The schools
are poor.
The mountains are always there, quiet.
Radioactive remains are in the air.
The men are loud; always,
the train is late. The
mountains
are blue. The girls are poor.
The mountains are pregnant. The boys
are radioactive; the loud
is always in the
air.
The quiet is always
waiting
for the train. The quiet is
late
at night. The sky is
pregnant. The late
is holy. The blue is
always.
The girls are pregnant. The poor
are always poor.
The sky is not a
virgin.
The mountains are barren.
The desert is quiet.
